What if I wrote a billionaire romance?

Believe it or not, a writer CAN run out of inspiration.

Not every story I tell started because I had an idea that I had to write, characters talking to me until I typed up their story. In fact, for the last four years, I’ve been writing after finding a spark of a story from an outside source. I clip newspaper articles (I’ve got a folder full!) and follow agent and editor wishlists.

Listen, this doesn’t mean it’s a shortcut to writing. (Please never tell an author, I have an idea and you write and we’ll split the money. This is not a thing.) But it’s a starting point that will then get my mind working. I’ll brainstorm, outline, plot, and write. Sometimes the book does not even remotely resemble the initial idea.

I have a book like that coming out.

The second book in the Shores of Loon Lake story started from a call for billionaire romances.

I’ve never written a billionaire. Ever. I’ve never had any interest (uber wealthy guy that is kind of a jerk? no thank you). But I tried to think what it would look like if I wrote someone like that. Spoiler alert: he’s still a cinnamon roll. He falls first. And he falls hard.

That’s all the teasers I’ll give you for the next book. If you enjoyed The Ghost of Loon Lake, I think you’ll really like book 2. If you’re a fan of cozy mystery and romance, you’ll love this series.

Each book is its own complete story with a mystery that will be solved. But, you’ll see familiar characters pop up in the book.

Tropes: second chance, small town, TREASURE HUNT, only one cabin, mystery
