What I mean by “heart-felt, hope-filled” romance…

It’s been a while since I’ve posted. Yikes! All I can say is that May is always busy. Maybe next year, when my oldest is a licensed driver (gulp), I won’t spend so much time running around. (probably not)

Anyways. I was walking the other day, dictating on my current WIP (work in progress), and kept thinking about my author tagline: Hope-filled, Heart-felt romance.

My books have a lot of “tropes” (fake amnesia, fake dating, grumpy sunshine, etc.) but the core story to every novel I write, from the sillier more shenanigans based stories to the really touching, is that there is always a second chance. Every day is a fresh start to go after your dreams.

I’m currently working on a book with a main character that feels like they’ve missed their moment. They are trying to find contentment but something is really nagging them. They have the opportunity now but are scared of failure.

I think this setup is pretty universal. I’ve had moments like this about my writing. I used to joke that I did everything backwards in this business (and it is true to a certain extent). But what I didn’t appreciate is the freedom and terror of knowing that every project is a fresh start.

I had a book on submission that received an r&r recently (revise and resubmit). Ultimately, the book didn’t fit the strict parameters of the publisher, but I was left so pleased by the whole experience. It was a publisher I thought would never consider my work. But they did. And I’ll work on another project later this year for another chance with them.

If you read my books, I want you to leave feeling encouraged. It’s something I need, too. You’re only done when you decide. There’s always time to take a chance. And putting yourself out there is worth it!

Back and Better Than Ever! Don’t miss my re-releases

I’m delighted to announce that, as of today, both A Perfect Picture of Us and Love Overboard are again available for purchase on Amazon.com

The books have shiny new covers and Love Overboard has the bonus epilogue now included. Otherwise, these are the same great, sweet romance books you’ve known and loved. Even better, if you are a Kindle Unlimited reader, both are included in the program.

A Perfect Picture of Us

Chicago lifestyle blogger, Jess Edwards, built a successful brand based on the pursuit of perfection. From throwing a party to decorating a home, every post is magazine spread worthy. Leo Martinelli, the law school study partner she never mustered the nerve to kiss, shows up in the middle of a photo shoot, and she’s thrilled for the reunion—until he serves her with a lawsuit.

Attorney Leo never thought he’d see Jess again, not after she disappeared halfway through the first semester. For the past ten years, he’s measured every woman who’s crossed his path against her. This meeting is his chance to say good-bye and finally move on from his unrequited crush—before relocating overseas.

To salvage her reputation, Jess has no intention of settling. To obtain the future he’s worked hard for, Leo can’t lose.

Love Overboard

Caitlyn Moore’s dream trip—a nine-night Alaskan cruise—is off to a rocky start. Unable to add her sister to her cabin, she’s destined to sail alone. She crashes into the handsome cruise director and her cell phone jumps overboard. He’s apologetic, but can’t stop and help. Caitlyn continues on her way, opens the door to her stateroom, and is greeted by her ex-fiance. A moment of misunderstanding compels her to fake amnesia so she can stay onboard.

The final voyage of Gregory Ash’s contract should be smooth sailing. After nine months at sea, he needs to decide whether to extend his cruising career or return home to his family’s business. When he locks eyes on a beautiful—and vaguely familiar—woman, his professionalism slips. Hearing her story, he feels even worse about their accident-prone first meeting. When a member of his crew falls ill, their paths cross again. He needs a pianist and she wants a future trip. They each have what the other needs, but as they grow closer, secrets threaten to rip them apart.

Can a tiny lie sink destiny?
