Book review-Getting Lei’d by Ann Omasta

Getting Lei’d by Ann Omasta

Book blurb: **Kindle Scout Winning Book** Being jilted almost-at-the-altar by text message is not at all how prim and proper Roxy Rose thought her wedding day would go. Getting dragged on her Hawaiian honeymoon by her excessively self-centered sister and outlandishly irreverent grandma is the icing on the horrible wedding day cake.

Can Kai, the resort’s hunky and talented chauffeur / bartender / flame-thrower, turn this disaster of a trip into a romantic adventure to last a lifetime? Or will his mysterious secrets keep their love from blossoming? Escape with Roxy into the enchanting Hawaiian Islands as she finally discovers the joys of hanging loose and “Getting Lei’d.”

My review: Four Stars-fun and flirty

After getting jilted at the altar, Roxy is whisked off on what should have been her honeymoon by her free-spirited Grandmother and sister. What follows is the beach paradise vacation that we’ve all dreamed of taking. A fun and flirty read, this book had everything I’m looking for in a great contemporary romance. (Only wish I hadn’t read this in the middle of a snowstorm and frigid temperatures!)

Tiny Island Summer (True North Book 2) is on sale this month for $1.99 along with three other Kindle Scout winners. I bought all three and am busy reading to (hopefully) post reviews for you before the sale is up.

Up first: Indiscretion by Polly Iyer

The book blurb:

Adult language and situations

Separated from her controlling husband, romance author Zoe Swan meets a charismatic art history professor on the beach and begins a torrid affair. But who is he really? By the time Zoe finds out, she’s wanted for murder and on the run with her husband, his jewel thief brother Paul, and a priceless painting stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. With the FBI and the murderer in pursuit, the trio heads to Boston to take refuge in the home of Paul’s friends. Soon the lines are blurred between the good guys and the bad, and the only way to prove their innocence is to make a deal with the very people who want them dead.

My review:

I loved this book. The suspense of one of the most famous art heists in history appealed to my background in Art History. I gave this book five stars and would highly recommend.

Fast-paced and smooth,Indiscretion by Polly Iyer will keep you on the edge of your seat. Her characters are fully formed and her heroine, Zoe Swan, is a woman to root for as she comes into her own. The novel is written primarily in first person; an enviable feat in Polly’s ever capable hands. If you’re looking for excellent story-telling with a fresh, exhilarating voice, you won’t be disappointed.

Did you make a resolution to read more this year?

I just did (thanks Goodreads) and I’m starting with my fellow Kindle Scout winners, each ranked at least 4 1/2 stars.

I love romance novels and can’t wait to start Getting Lei’d and Her Billionaire Bodyguard Bridegroom. But today I’m jumping into suspense with Polly Iyer’s Indiscretion.

Can’t wait to get started and hope you check out these books too/ The sale for all four books runs this month only, don’t wait. I’ll be posting my reviews as I finish.

Happy reading!
