Author Interview – Teresa Roman

Please welcome Teresa Roman. A Kindle Scout winning author with her first book, Back to Us (Check out my review here), her latest novel, Daughter of Magic, is available now on Amazon.

Teresa Roman’s absolute favorite things in life are her family and books. Her passion for reading is what inspired her to become a writer. She loves the way stories can take you to another time and place.

Teresa currently live in beautiful Sacramento, CA with her husband, three adorable children and a doxiepoo (dachshund/poodle mix) named Parker that her son convinced them to adopt. When she’s not at her day job or running around with her kids, you can find her in front of the computer writing, or with her head buried in another book. If you’d like to know more about her, she can be found at where you can also sign up for her newsletter for exclusive book release information.

Daughter of Magic

Lilli sees things no one else does.

Desperate to make sense of the dreams and visions that have plagued her since childhood, Lilli confides in Devin, her closest friend, and the boy she’s fallen for.

Instead of questioning her sanity, Devin confesses to secrets of his own, which are far darker. His revelations about magic, witches and demons stun Lilli. But it’s what he knows about Lilli’s mother, long believed to be dead, that leaves her feeling betrayed. Despite her anger, Lilli will have to learn to trust Devin again, because he is the only one who can protect her from a dark danger that’s coming for her from a world away.

Tell us three things we’d find if we looked under the heroine’s bed? What about the hero?

Lilli would have a photo album filled with family pictures. Books, because she is introverted and prefers spending time alone with her head in a book, and hiking boots. Devin would have his dagger, and backpack full of the things he needs to travel light.

What is the theme of this book? If it’s part of a series how does this book fit into the series?

The theme of Daughter of Magic is about trying to understand others. It’s about forgiving and opening up your heart to others. Daughter of Magic is book 1 in a planned duology. Book 1 takes place mainly in this world. In book 2, my main characters will have left the human world behind and ventured into the Wilds, home to witches and shapeshifters and an array of other supernatural characters.

Why do you write this genre?

Daughter of Magic is a YA urban fantasy with romantic elements. I write in several genres, but the element that is constant across all the genres I write in is romance. I just love a good love story. With Daughter of Magic I wanted to write a story with a hero who’s actually a good guy, someone you’d want your daughter to wind up with.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?

Be patient. Most writers don’t become successful overnight. Write because you enjoy it, not because you think it’ll make you rich. The majority of writers aren’t rich and never will be.

A huge thanks to Teresa for being my first guest author. Be sure to check out her website and catch up with her on social media at Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Good Reads.
