It’s been a while since I’ve stopped by the blog with an update. So here I am!
I’ve been busy drafting a new series. I had the idea for a spin-off of my Home to Harmony books last year and have been working steady ever since. Book 1 is ready to submit to publishers BUT I like to have first drafts completed for an entire series before I query. I was hitting a wall on book 3 and I realized I needed to write book 4 first. (Sometimes, I understand the characters better later in books and that was happening with the motivation for my main couple, who appear in the other books as side characters.)
I’m almost done with the first draft of book 4 and then I’ll go back and finish the last few chapters of book 3. After that it’ll be edits, edits, edits. I’m not sure if I’ll submit to publishers or keep this one for self-publishing.
Looking ahead this year, I have edits for my 2027 releases on the horizon AND I have ideas for 2 new books. I’m also eagerly working on my late summer/early fall 2026 mystery/romantic suspense.
The inside seasons–early in the year and end of the year–end up being my most productive times for getting consistent word counts every day and I’m off to a good start for this year.
Spring and summer are for book signings and events! I hope to see you at the open to the public book signing happening during the Chicago Spring Fling event. If you’re in Chicago this Saturday on April 18th, stop in and say hi.
